Independence Day : (Short Essay)

As we all know very well, August 15th is our Independence Day. On this day, we remember all the great leaders and freedom fighters that fought our freedom. On August 15th, 1947 our country gained her freedom from the 200 years bondage. The national flag is hoist in the Red Fort, Delhi by our Prime Minister on Independence Day. Schools, offices and other organizations celebrate the Independence Day with dances, programs and competitions. August 15th is declared nationwide holiday every year. As an Indian, it is our part to pay homage to the great leaders and preserve the Independence they gained for us.

Independence Day : (Brief Essay)

Independence Day is observed on August 15, every year. Independence Day is considered the commemoration of the Independence we gained from The British Empire on August 15, 1947. We should remind ourselves the great struggle our great leaders undertook to set our Nation free from the British Empire.

On the first Independence Day, our first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the Tricolor National Flag at Red Fort, Delhi. Since then, it’s been customary for the Independence Day Celebration to happen at Red Fort. Every year, Prime Minister of India hoists the National Flag and delivers the Independence Day Speech. The President delivers his “Address to The Nation” on the same day. Also, our National Anthem is sung at Red Fort.

All educational institutions, organizations and offices observe Independence Day with holiday. Cheerful celebrations are a part of Independence Day Eve. Kite Flying is yet another enjoyable part of the celebration. People display National Flag in their attire; National Flag is hoisted in all schools and public places. People distribute sweets as mark of happiness on Independence Day.
