Independence Day Speech :

Honorable Chief Guest, Respected Principal and Head Master on stage, respected teachers, my beloved friends and one and all of you gathered here!

It indeed gives me a great pleasure to greet you all a warm, good day on the eve of our 70th Independence.

So, why have we gathered here? What is so special about August 15th of every year? This is not a usual day we all wake up and go for our routines. This is THE DAY we take time to remember all the course of struggle our massive group of freedom fighters underwent for us to stay freely today.

The air we breathe this moment gives us happiness because we live our life the way we desire. Had we been in the bondage of the British yet, we would have not been so excited about it. 200 years of bondage is not so easy to imagine and reliving the same through our thoughts is not going to be real enough.

While The British came to our country in the 17th century as traders, they saw India as a ripe opportunity. Never doubt it; we Indians were much stronger in numbers than the British. It was a few hundred British who entered India and later managed to rule millions of Indians. Unfortunate that we were lacking high end technologies that British had that time; this was one reason we were occupied by them for so many years.

The revolts and mutinies we Indians paved in front of the British definitely started shaking them slowly. It required a lot of troops and unity to make India an Independent Soil Again.

Independent India and The Constitution Of India came into existence not because a single combatant but by the struggle of so many fighters who stood besides all the pains they were given. I would fail my speech if I do not name at least a few:

Sarojini Naidu, the Nightingale of India… Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, the backbone for the formulation of Constitution of India… Sardar Vallabaii Patel, one of the prominent leaders of Congress, Jhansi Ka Rani Lakshmi Bai , Chandra Sekar Azad, Mangal Pandey Bhagat Singh and many others who sacrificed their lives to make India free from British at any mean.

Apart from these people 2 great leaders who led India by all means are – Mahatma Gandhi And Subash Chandra Bose. While Gandhi rose for India through Non Violence Netaji Subash Chandra Bose called for young warriors to fight for unconditional and complete freedom.

Finally, I cannot end my speech before I could give away my thought to all of you. Freedom is something that we experience from within and that we forge for others too. Independent India is now a proud nation with young achievers and profound technologies. It is open to all of us to make India a Super Power and become the best competent to other nations. That is the day when we stand by the reason for the ruthless agonies our great fighters underwent for us, once upon a time…!

Come on India!

Wish You All a Happy Independence Day!

Thank You!
