Leave letter for going abroad

Concept : It is about a student asking leave for going abroad.  A student has been selected for an international Karate event.  He needs leave for the same.  Here is the letter follows,

Respected sir/madam,

I have been selected to attend an international karate tournament 2019, for which I will need to attend. The event happens in Malaysia, starting from (date) to (date). So, I request you to grant me leave for 15 days only.
Please consider my written letter as my personal request and allow me to skip the classes and do my best at the competition.
