Last Updated on April 24, 2022

In this post, I provide different types of letters to ask for permission to take off for a fever.

Asking permission as a student

I am a student of your class. I am feeling fever and I would like to take a few days off from school to recuperate. I hope you understand and give me permission for absence from school to get better soon.

Asking permission as a student with more information

I have had a fever for the past 2 days. However, today is the third day of my fever and it has not gone away. I am sorry to say that due to my fever, I will not be in class on Wednesday, Feb 26th. Please let me know if there is anything that you need from me while I am not in school. Thank you for understanding!

Notifying teacher that you will be back to school on Monday

Asking leave on a particular day

I am writing to request an absence for the day of _____. I recently came down with a fever and I am feeling under the weather. Thank you for your consideration.

A parent is asking for permission for his son’s/daughter’s absence

Thank you for taking the time to read this email. My son has a doctor’s appointment and will be out of school for a couple of days. This is a very busy time of year and I want to make sure that my son’s absence does not hamper his schoolwork or other students. I am writing this letter for him to excuse his absence from school. Thank you for your patience with this matter.
