National Eligibility and Entrance Test :

NEET stands for National Eligibility and Entrance Test.

NEET is an entrance examination that is conducted in India; a student who passes this examination becomes eligible to enter any Government/Private Medical Colleges in India. Thereby, a student can study into any graduate medical course like MBBS/ BDS/ MD/ MS by successful clearance of NEET Examination.

From the year 2013, this examination is conducted instead of the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT). As of now, many colleges have demanded a stay order on conducting NEET exams. The colleges have went ahead conducting their own private examinations for  MBBS and BDS courses admissions in their colleges. However, as per regulations, the National Eligibility and Entrance Test- NEET 2017 entrance was conducted on May 7 2017 and students are awaiting the results.

NEET, according to the Supreme Court’s Order, is the only gateway to get one of the 54,000 medical seats all across the country.
