Since or For Worksheet - Exercise 1
Since and for both talk about time, but in different ways. We use for with a length of time (for two hours, for five years) and since with a starting point in time (since Monday, since 2019). They are most often used with the present perfect tense.
This worksheet gives students 15 practice questions to choose the correct word - since or for - in each sentence, with a full answer key included so it is quick to check.
Tip: ask "is this a period of time or a point in time?" - for answers "how long", and since answers "starting when".
