Animal Coloring Pages for Kids

Five animal coloring pages for kids, drawn in simple thick outlines that are easy for small hands to colour inside.

What is in the set

Five animals, one to a page, each large enough to fill the sheet. The outlines are heavy and the shapes are open, so there is nothing fiddly to colour around.

Using them

• Name the animal first. Ask what it is before handing over the pencils — it turns a colouring sheet into a vocabulary activity for two minutes.
• Real colours or any colours. Both are worth doing. "What colour is this animal really?" is a different question from "what colour do you want it to be?", and children enjoy the second one more.
• Sorting. Colour all five, cut them out, then sort them — farm or wild, legs or no legs, big or small.
• Label the parts. For older children, add lines and write on tail, ears, legs.
• A cover for an animal topic book.

Printing

Print at 100% on ordinary paper. If the pictures are going to be cut out and stuck into a book, thicker paper holds up better to glue.
