Christmas Quotes Coloring Pages
Twelve Christmas coloring pages built around short Christmas sayings. Each page has the words drawn in outline lettering with a festive border, so children colour the message as well as the picture.
What is on the pages
Every page is one quote in large hollow letters, framed by Christmas things — trees, baubles, stars, holly, candy canes. The lettering is thick enough to colour inside without much control, so this works well below the age where writing neatly is possible.
Ways to use them
- Christmas cards. Colour a page, fold it, write inside. The quote is already the greeting.
- Classroom display. Twelve different pages means a whole class can colour without everyone producing the same picture.
- Reading practice that does not feel like practice. A child colouring a quote reads it a dozen times without noticing.
- A quiet activity for the last week of term, when nobody is doing much new work.
- Copy the words underneath. For older children, add a line under the picture and have them write the quote out in their own handwriting.
Printing
Print at 100% or "actual size" rather than "fit to page" — scaling shrinks the lettering and makes the thin border lines harder to colour. Ordinary paper is fine for pencils; if the children are using felt tips, thicker paper stops the colour bleeding through to the next sheet.
